About the Directors
Jon Burgess
Jon Burgess is a rugby league-mad conservation specialist without a beard! He has over 20 years’ planning experience though for the past 15 years he has specialised in heritage and design work. Jon has a PhD in architectural conservation in addition to his planning qualifications. He was a Senior Manager at both Peterborough City Council and Cambridge City Council and was a founder-Director of QuBE. Jon is as passionate about high quality modern design as he is about historic buildings and areas and has worked with many of the country’s leading architects in devising exciting new schemes in historic areas.
Andy Thompson
Andy Thompson is a planner and urban designer with 30 years experience in both the private and public sectors. He has led numerous multi disciplinary teams dealing with major planning applications, planning and design briefs, public realm strategies and enhancement schemes. Instead of coasting towards retirement, Andy became a founder-Director of QuBE after over 20 years at Cambridge City Council to pursue his interest in achieving design quality in the built environment.
Lee Melin
Lee Melin is a chartered town planner who has chalked up almost two decades of experience in private practice – with commercial property and planning consultancies large and small – and in local authority.
