Our History
Beacon Planning Ltd began trading in March 2008 as an independent planning consultancy specialising in conservation and design. Established by Jon Burgess and Andy Thompson, who were formerly directors of QuBE Planning Ltd, the company has grown steadily and as of November 2011 the Cambridge office has 10 staff, making it one of the larger planning consultancies in the area.
The quality and diversity of the company's work was recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute with a commendation in their Small Planning Consultancy of the Year Award after less than 2 years of trading.
The geographic spread of the company's work has widened over the years from its home territory of the east of England with projects being undertaken in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Devon and Dorset. Beacon continues to develop and 2012 will see the opening of a London office to build upon the work already being carried out in the capital and home counties.
