Beacon secure approval for extension to listed building near Debden Essex
4 May 2016 | Posted by Charmain Hawkins
Beacon were able to progress negotiations following rejection of an initial scheme by assessing the fabric and setting out potential options. This input assisted in securing a permission for the owners.

Beacon Planning secured approval for a rear extension which will significantly improve the bathroom facilities in the house.

Beacon were asked to assist after an initial scheme was refused. Negotiations with the Council were aided by a Heritage Appraisal of the building which assessed the heritage significance of the component parts and also considered alternative ways of securing the alterations/extension. This assisted in an acceptable solution being brokered.

The proposals were seen as enabling the building to remain in its optimum use as a single family dwelling into the future.

The extension design was produced by Ian Abrams Architects.
