Clare College, Cambridge. Beacon were appointed to the project team as planning and heritage consultants to secure approval for the refurbishment of existing student rooms on Newnham Road and the construction of a new block to the rear of the site. We have been part of the project team led by Cottrell and Vermeulen Architects with specific responsibility for:
- Advising on the planning policy context given the sites location within a Conservation Area and a designated ‘Local Centre’;
- Liaison with the Council’s Planning and Conservation staff;
- Preparing the Planning, Heritage, Sustainability and Design and Access Statements; and
- Preparing and collating the Planning, Conservation Area Consent and Listed Building applications.
