Greyhound Inn, Folkingham

The refurbishment of a Grade II* former coaching inn to create 10 apartments.

The Greyhound Inn was vacant and on the ‘At Risk register’ when Jon was asked to produce an historic building assessment of the property. The assessment sought to give an overview of the importance of the architectural and historic fabric of the building in order to guide its future redevelopment.

Following negotiations with the Council, proposals were developed to convert the building into 10 residential units. This was considered the most sympathetic solution as it minimised the impact on the historic fabric whist being economically viable.

Andy and Jon pulled together the planning and listed building applications, prepared the Design and Access Statement and liaised with the Council. The plans were backed by the Parish Council and were approved by South Kesteven Council in October 2007.

(NB This project was undertaken while Andy and Jon were Directors of QuBE).
