Context Studies

The preparation of context studies is now embedded within the planning system as a requirement of Design and Access Statements. Beacon directors have been preparing detailed studies for many years, including:

Site appraisals to support development proposals.
Undertaking Conservation Area Appraisals and preparing Management Guidelines for numerous local authorities including for the cities of Cambridge and Norwich. Our approach to such work has been widely recognised with a RTPI commendation and we have advised on everything from a small group of railway cottages in Leicestershire to the entire historic city centre of Norwich.
Visual impact and townscape appraisals to demonstrate the impact of development proposals on historic areas and buildings.
